About Grand Manan Island
The Bay of Fundy, with its dramatic and extreme tides, was a finalist – One of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. In addition, it was also voted as one of the “World’s 7 Best Small Islands”, by Reader’s Digest. A bird watcher’s paradise, with over 240 species of birds, and also the only place in New Brunswick to arrange a tour to visit the puffins, which is now a protected bird sanctuary.

Booking and paying online from the Netherlands was a bit difficult, but this was resolved over the phone. We booked at LaHave because we were driving from the direction of Lunenburg to Risser's Beach. We chose to cross via the ferry (free of charge) from East Lahave to West Lahave. This way, you pass by Lahave Adventures on the route. This was a nice stop to do a kayak tour. We chose the Afternoon Seals & Sights Kayak Tour. Because there was a lot of rain and wind the evening and night before our tour, we were informed by phone in the morning that the tour could not take place that day. We could choose whether we wanted a refund or if we could come the next day. Since we had enough flexibility, we chose the next day. Certainly no regrets. Very fun tour with Scotty and 3 other guests. Definitely recommended!
