Looking for the ideal "get away", honeymoon or romantic weekend? Compass Rose Heritage Inn is your place to relax, slow the pace down, and just enjoy the natural wonders around you.
We welcome guests with warm hospitality to this Heritage Inn. We are located on Grand Manan Island in the heart of the Bay of Fundy. The Compass Rose Heritage Inn consists of two charming seaside houses. Our rooms are friendly and inviting with spectacular ocean views and antique furnishings. The inn started life in the early 1900s as a post and telegraph office serving the village of North Head. In 1928 a team of horses moved another house onto the site adjoining the post office. The house next door was built in 1912. Known as Flagg House it now forms part of the Compass Rose property.
Compass Rose guests return year after year. They are bird watchers, hikers, kayakers, cyclists, artists, and kindred spirits who seek the simple life. Walks along majestic cliffs, picnics on secluded beaches, trips to see the puffins and whales, and chats with local fisherman on the wharves are all a part of the Island's charm. The buildings are completely no-smoking, and unfortunately not suitable for children or for pets.
Our dining room provides breathtaking views of the Bay of Fundy and the busy fishing harbour. Breakfast at the Compass Rose is always a special occasion!
Take advantage of the many trails in the area, great for hiking or mountain biking.
Accommodations
Our guest rooms look out over the harbour and bay and have
lovely ocean views. All rooms except Rose Room have an ensuite bathroom. For Rose Room, the bathroom is private and is immediately outside the bedroom door. Rates are for two people and include an extensive continental breakfast buffet served in our dining room from 8:00-9:00am.
